What Data Collections were used?

  • Pre-Test to Post-Test

  • MAP (Measure of Academic Progress)

  • Aims Math-CAP (An assessment that focuses on concepts and applications learned throughout the year)

  • Student Interviews

Why?

I chose the above forms of data collection because I felt these were the best ways to see my students' growth over time.

  • Pre-Test to Post-Test: Topic tests were given anywhere from every month to after a couple weeks of instruction. These formative tests helped me to determine the effectiveness of my small group instruction. These topic tests also helped me to create differentiated groups.

  • MAP: This assessment was given in the Fall, Winter, and Spring and is a summative assessment that provides data to determine if my students were making adequate progress.

  • Aims Math-CAP: This test was given every other week. I chose this method because it had a range of different topics assessed on each probe.

  • Student Interviews: This gave me an insight into how my students were feeling about their abilities throughout our Math Workshop.
