Purpose Statement

The purpose of this study was to determine if differentiation during the Math Workshop model affects student achievement.

Workshop Structure:

Math Workshop was implemented through the gradual release model. “I do, we do, you do."  Every day started with me modeling the concept in a whole group setting. We then began Guided Math. During Guided Math I met with differentiated groups of students based off of their topic Pre-Tests and any MAP-related data I could utilize. While students were not working with me they were engaged in Math Workshop, either playing a game with a partner, working on related skills on IXL or independently practicing the skill at their seat.
